Members of The Libertines and Klaxons united in London last night (June 18th) under the band pseudonym, The Chav’s.

Former Libertines members Carl Barat and drummer Gary Powell played a five song set at The Cuckoo Club, alongside Klaxons’ Jamie Reynolds and Steffan Halperin.

Rotating line-ups throughout the performance – which was being filmed for Rockworld TV - the show also saw appearances from The Charlatan’s, Tim Burgess and Anthony Rossomando and Didz Hammond of Barat's latest band, Dirty Pretty Things.

The Chav’s kicked of the show with a Velvet underground inspired song that Burgess revealed had only been written earlier in the day.

According to the NME, Burgess maintained vocal duties for a rendition of Klaxons, ‘Golden Skans,’ before the band played a mash-up of The Charlatan’s, ‘North Country Boy,’ and The Rolling Stones, ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want.’

The band rounded off the performance with two Dirty Pretty Things numbers: 'Bang Bang, You're Dead' and 'Blood Thirsty Bastards'.

The performance was some what of an unexpected return for The Chavs – who once played a raucous show in 2004 with Primal Scream keyboardist Martin Duffy and Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows.
