We all know how newspapers like to make things up, and today it has been reported that The Libertines are hoping to reunite for Glastonbury.
The Daily Mirror claims that Pete Doherty and Carl Barat have been inspired by their collaboration for The Beatles covers album last week.
They’re apparently in negotiations to appear on an acoustic tent at the festival this weekend. Doherty and Barat are already performing with their respective new bands at Glastonbury.
An ‘insider’ of dubious authenticity told the paper: “The lads have been talking about it for months. Although they’ve got their own bands now, neither has had anything like the acclaim The Libertines had.
“Pete and Carl are still arguing about what they’re going to perform – but whatever they settle on it will be incredible.”
