Ozzy Osbourne has defended Oasis against persistent accusations they are just Beatles rip-off merchants.
The veteran shock-rocker thinks the band only became known as Fab Four copyists because the tag became fashionable.
He explains, in quintessential Ozzy-speak, “It's dead easy to start a forest fire in this game. You say, 'Ozzy's got a false nose.' All of a sudden, everyone looks the same. Same thing with Oasis.
"Everybody says they rip them off, but I don't think so. Everyone just kept saying it and it stuck."
To be fair though, it might also have something to do with the fact that Oasis increasingly ripped their self-confessed idols off.
