Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis has been given a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.
The 71-year-old Somerset farmer dedicated the gong to his supporters, joking that the establishment acknowledgement was fitting considering his battles with them in the past.
He tells the BBC, “I've spent 37 years running my show and trying to curry favour with the authorities just to make it happen.
"I'm so pleased not only for myself, but for the hundreds and perhaps thousands of people who have had faith in me and supported my ideas through thick and thin."
When we heard J.Cocker from Sheffield had also picked up the OBE we got quite excited, but it turns out it was a "genuinely surprised” Joe, not Jarvis.
The veteran singer comments, “I am humbled to be in such illustrious company, along with many other British musicians that I admire."
