It seems off that Sinead O'Connor (who is reportedly not a fan musicals), has chosen to release 'I Don’t Know How to Love Him' from Jesus Christ Superstar. Has pop’s most depressional singer/songwriter become hooked on the BBC’s recent weekend show, featuring the only other (who let him produce two of them?!) Lloyd-Webber spandexed bible story sing-a-long? It seems unlikely. Throughout 'I Don’t Know How To Love Him' O’connor overcompensates in what appears to be an attempt to individualise the reasonably well known show tune. Her singing is overly emotive, pretentious and annoyingly drivellish. The track is not just cringworthy, it’s terrible. Tracks like this (such as Andrew Lloyd-Webber) should be destroyed, disposed of, and then never talked about again.
Released 11/06/07 on Rubyworks
