Über camp singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright has blasted the pop royalty that is Beyonce Knowles.
In the scathing attack, Wainwright said he was “sick” of Beyonce’s music and that a lot of it is very formulaic.
He ranted to Spin Magazine: "I'm really sick of Beyonce. All of her songs are formulaic and produced in the basest way. There's no enlightenment. Like most mainstream pop these days, it's more of a scientific experiment than an artist experience. But hey, it's your life, you know."
As previously reported, the singer hits the road for four shows, following his Glastonbury appearance on June 22. He plays:
Brighton Dome Theatre - June 24
Oxford New Theatre - 25
Folkestone Leas Cliff – 27/28

- He said what other’s are thinking but don’t have the guts to say....I agree strongley overrated....over popularized!!!!

- people are just jelouse and being racist beyonce is an inspiration to all plus size no one has the guts to say it because she is the black amerian dream and an inspiratian to all efinic minorities in the world

- i’ve had enough of her - she needs 2 go... we need more jennifer hudson and less beyonce!!

- Absolutely.Rufus has a great point. That Beyonce is a total annoyance. Her music is pointless and does not rivet the soul.

- i am black and even i cant take it anymore. besides - beyonce does not represent every single ethnic minority! she is mixed race. and it seems as though the mixed race female is the only type of black female that the music industry allows.
