The White Stripes Set For Number One Spot

The White Stripes look set to capture the number one spot this week with their new single, ‘Icky Thump.’

The band are currently topping the midweek charts with just over a thousand more copies sold than the UK’s current number one – which is held by Rihanna with ‘Umbrella.’

As we reported earlier, the band played two shows in London yesterday, including, an acoustic set at a London Hospital for the Chelsea pensioner’s.

The band will play the Wireless Festival in London tomorrow (June 14th) and Leeds on Friday (June 15th), ahead of releasing their new album, which is also entitled, ‘Icky Thump,’ next week (June 18th).
