Ash took the stage yesterday (June 9th) at the Isle Of Wight Festival as a band on the verge of releasing their latest album, ‘Twlight Of The Innocence’ but left hinting that it might be their final work together.
Playing a mixed set, including songs off their forthcoming album, as well as classics like ‘Girl From Mars’ and ‘Burn Baby Burn,’ Ash were making their first UK festival appearance since the departure of guitarist Charlotte Hatherley last year.
With the sun showered crowds only singing a long to the bands anthems, however, the band seemed disjointed on stage throughout most of their performance.
Front man Tim Wheeler then confounded the bizarreness of the show more when he introduced the bands final song, ‘Twilight Of The Innocence,’ – the title track off their latest album – saying, “This is the last song of our final album.”
Could this be the end of Ash? Gigwise will let you know if we hear anything more over the weekend.
