George Michael has been spared a jail term for the charge of driving while unfit at Brent Magistrates Court this morning.
Michael pleaded guilty to the charge but was told he will not face a custodial term following his arrest on October 1 last year.
At the time the singer was found slumped at the wheel of his car in the early hours of the morning.
According to the BBC he told the court: "I was ashamed I had done something really wrong in putting other people at risk."
He is now awaiting sentencing and Magistrate Katherine Marshall said she is considering either a suspended sentence or community service.
Michael is set to become the first musician to perform at the new Wembley Stadium when he plays two shows there this weekend.
