New Balance are attempting to commission a pair of trainers in tribute to Joy Division.
The trainers (or sneakers for those of you in the States) are inspired by the artwork on the band’s 1979 masterpiece ‘Unknown Pleasures.’
They have been designed by independent American artist Dylan Adair and are awaiting the green light to be formally released.
As well as the trademark ‘Unknown Pleasures’ ripples on the sole and tongue, the trainers are also imprinted with ‘FACT 10’ in honour of the record’s catalogue number on Factory Records.
It’s not yet clear whether there will be a follow-up based on the gothic artwork to ‘Closer’, but we doubt it.
