Ash have revealed that they let Charlotte Hatherley go from the band because they felt her heart was no longer in it.
Hatherley left the Northern Irish outfit in January 2006 after nine years with the band to pursue a solo career in what was a mutual decision.
Speaking about the parting of ways, diminutive Ash frontman Tim Wheeler is quoted as saying: "It was our decision for her to go. She wanted the best of both worlds - to be a solo artist and to be in a band.
"I could tell her heart wasn't in it and it made things awkward between us."
