It’s been revealed that hundreds of copies of Paul McCartney’s latest album ‘Memory Almost Full’ will not be eligible for the UK charts.
McCartney has released his latest album – the 21st of his illustrious career – on the Hear Music Label, which is run by coffee company, Starbucks.
Although the album is on sale in Starbucks’ 533 stores across the UK, the company is not registered with the Official UK Chart Company. Consequently, albums sold in the stores won’t be eligible for the chart this coming Sunday.
Starbucks has said that it has no plans to contribute data to the official UK chart at the moment, reports the BBC.
McCartney’s album is still expected to chart on Sunday, however, thanks to sales from online digital download services and high-street shops.
