"I know it's over, but it never really began." A legendary man once sang this line, and it seems quite befitting on the day where Johnny Marr has again revealed he has no desire to reform the Smiths.
Marr said: "The Smiths have been offered quite a bit of money to get back together a couple of times. With those sums of money, I'm not at all rich enough to turn those down, but I wouldn't accept those offers either"
"You don't do it for the money - well, I wouldn't anyway. No amount of money would get me to play with people who don't get along" he added.
The guitarist joined band Modest Mouse last year to help with their seventh album 'We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank', which he has been enjoying immensely.
"I kind of get invited to participate in some band of some sort - and sometimes I like that offer, and sometimes I don't. When I do, it's because I'm being led by the music first."
