More The Bird and the Bee

Well, with a name like that they were hardly going to be a Norwegian black metal band. The Bird And The Bee is LA-duo Greg Kurstin and Inara George, who met when Kurstin (who has previously worked with Beck and RHCP) was producing George's solo album. 'Again and Again', the opening track from their eponymous debut album, is essentially a more chilled-out Mates of State, with George's breathy vocals being backed up by acoustic guitar, programmed beats and layers of keyboard. The lyrics hint at something darker (I'm easy/I'm creepy...say my name/say my stupid name), but superficially at least this is nice jazzy poptronica which you'd probably want to rip the wings off in December, but sounds very right when the sun's shining.
