The Wombats have been forced to cancel six of their upcoming live dates, including a sold-out gig at London’s 100 Club tonight (May 30th).
The decision has been made because the bands lead singer, Matthew Murphy, has contracted tonsillitis and been forced to rest his voice.
The Wombats – who were in the middle of a mammoth UK tour - issued a statement about the cancellations. The Liverpool band said: “The band would like to apologise to all who were planning to attend.“
All the cancelled shows will be rescheduled as soon as possible, although, the show at the 100 Club has already been rearranged to June 11th at London Dingwalls. All the original tickets will remain valid for the show.
The Wombats’ cancelled shows are as follows:
London, 100 Club – May 30
Northampton, Soundhaus - 31
Lincoln, Bivouac – June 1
Welwyn, Garden City The Green Room - 2
Tunbridge, Wells The Forum - 3
Bolton, Soundhaus - 4
