Diesel-U-Music have announced the nine UK finalists for this years Diesel-U-Music International Music Contest.
The finalists – who include bands from urban, rock and electronic genres – are now set to embark on a nationwide tour starting at the end of May, which includes gigs in London, Leeds, Nottingham and Glasgow.
Following the tour, one winner will be chosen from the nine finalists to represent the UK in head-to-head competitions across the world. The 2007 contest will conclude with an awards ceremony at KOKO on October 3rd.
Among this year’s finalists – who were announced at a launch party in London last night (May 23rd) - are Revenue, The Electric Riot and Alex Blood. Judges for the contest included Clash Editor Simon Harper and XFM’s David Smith.
Now in its seventh year, Diesel-U-Music has fast become one of the music industries leading pioneers for unearthing new talent, with past winners including The Infadels and DJ Yoda.
