Hoover-loving Manic Street Preacher Nicky Wire has stuck the knife into those amiable Scots Franz Ferdinand.
Wire had a dig at Franz’ single ‘Do You Want To?’ claiming that it has abominable lyrics that he says are a “crime.”
He said: "They committed the worst ever lyrical crime - 'Here we are at the transmission party/I love your friends, they're all so arty.' Crap!"
The bassist instead hinted that he much preferred the current crop of emo bands like My Chemical Romance, reportedly adding: "My Chemical Romance? I'd rather my daughter got into them than some of these British bands."

- franz are thousand times better than preachers. I dont think their lyrics are any good. At least you can understand what franz are saying.

- James Dean Bradfield is a better lyricist than Nicky these days - as his solo album proved last year. And as for This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours...

- he’s just a welsh ****! Manic Street Preacher have been the queens of crap lyrics for years.

- Keep up, Nicky. It’s not 2005 anymore. Franz Ferdinand aren’t going to be listened to by anyone’s kids ever again.
