The Rakes have launched an attack on celebrities who try to get involved with politics.
Talking about their new single, ‘The World Was A Mess But His Hair Was Perfect,’ the bands front man, Alan Donohue said: “You get people like Peter Andre on Top of the Pops trying to tell Tony Blair how to dictate foreign policy, its like ‘oh my god!’”
He continued: “The song is based on those sort of airheads who jumped on the bandwagon, you know when it was a bit cool to be political for a minute.”
In an interview with MTV, Donohue also had some harsh words for The Feeling regarding a recent blog. “When we were asked to do this one for a newspaper, (we) saw on the website one from The Feeling, who I particularly hate.”
The singer added: “So I checked it out and it was really, really annoying. It was like going the whole ‘yeah we got on the guest list to see Scissor Sisters and Elton John was there and Kylie’ I stopped reading it- it was just sickening”
