Interpol: 'New Album Is Most Deliberate Yet'

In an exclusive interview with Gigwise, Interpol have branded their new album as their "most deliberate album to date.”

Talking about the making of ‘Our Love To Admire,’ which is released on July 9th, the band said how important it was to have time off following their relentless tour schedule.

Interpol’s drummer, Sam Fogarino said: “Yeah, just in terms of having a clear mind and a clear state and shutting out all the peripheral stuff that actually – in the moment becomes all consuming – but it really has nothing to do with making music.” 

Fogarino also talked candidly about working with the producer, Rich Costey, whose past collaborations have included Muse and Nine Inch Nails. He said: “We just struck an instant rapport and he got our jokes, he got our serious side and he emphasised with the music. I think at that point it was just kind of a no brainer really.

He continues: “I think the best thing about Rich Costey as a producer and as a mixer engineer is that he doesn’t have a sound. He takes the sound of the band and makes it his own.”
