Bio:
Tom and Ed began DJing together in Manchester in 1991 when they decided they wanted to capture the atmosphere of their set on record, and ‘Song To The Siren’ was born. It grabbed the attention of DJs everywhere, but some for the wrong reasons. At this point the lads were recording under the name ‘The Dust Brothers’, which was already taken by an American act. One quick name change later, and the Chemical Brothers were born.
Their debut album ‘Exit Planet Dust’ won great acclaim, but it was their track with Oasis vocalist Noel Gallagher, ‘Setting Sun’ that gained them mainstream attention, as well as an opening slot at the now legendary Oasis Knebworth gigs. After another massive hit with ‘Block Rockin’ Beats’, the Chemical Brothers success died down for a few years.
They arrived back on the scene in 1999 with album ‘Surrender’ which featured ‘Hey Boy Hey Girl’ and another Noel Gallagher collaboration, ‘Let Forever Be’. More recently, they have returned with their number one album ‘Push The Button’, which spawned top 3 single ‘Galvanise’. They will be playing V Festival in 2005.
