The Knife are re-releasing their seminal track ‘Heartbeats’ as their next single.
Lifted from their second album ‘Deep Cuts’, the track will be released in its live form and was recorded in Gothenburg in their native Sweden last April.
Differing somewhat from the original, the darker version of the track is more in fitting with the mood of their masterpiece ‘Silent Shout.’ Strangely it also bares a resemblance to Berlin’s ‘Take My Breath Away’ – but we’ll let you decide about that.
‘Heartbeats’ received more fame when it was covered by Jose Gonzalez in 2005. The Knife re-release comes out as a digital download on June 25.
It’s followed a week later by ‘Silent Shout – Deluxe Edition’ which comes complete with a plethora of bonus material.
