Late Boston frontman Brad Delp is set to be honoured with an all-star tribute concert.
Boston band member Tom Scholtz has revealed that the show will reportedly take place on August 19 at an as-yet undisclosed venue in the US.
Amongst those playing live are the remaining members of Boston, Sammy Hagar, Cheap Trick, and Beatlejuice - a Beatles cover act that Delp once performed with.
In a posting under the title ‘A Final Boston Concert’, Scholtz wrote: "We planned to let several well known singers that had a history with Boston cover Brad's lead vocal parts, and invite all our former bandmembers to sit in during the performance.
”The musicians and crew members of Boston feel like they are a part of a family, the loss affected us all, and we needed to get together again one more time.”
Brad Delp committed suicide in March. He was aged 55.

- The event is taking place at the Tweeter Center in Boston.
- What a sad irony it would be if it actually took the death of Brad Delp to get Tom Scholz and Barry Goudreau on the same stage again.
Good to hear that Tom is not attempting to continue Boston without Brad though. That would have been unconscionable.
- Well, it’s sad that he’s gone, because Brad and Steve Perry, IMO are the best voices in Rock & Roll...you know guys who actually can sing. Anyhow, as a male vocalist Brad and Steve have been the most difficult to cover, but now that Brads gone...

- I can’t believe the writer of this article didn’t continue to scroll down on the bandboston.com post of ”A Final Boston Concert.” Further down it mentions that it would take too long to rehearse such an event so it will be shelved for now. ”Rather than spending the time necessary to perform up to Boston standards six months from now, we’ve decided to let go of the idea and return to the studio...” Please read the whole article.
