With a name like G. Love you'd be forgiven for expecting some sort of hip hop but in fact it's been the moniker of harmonica-wielding Philadelphia boy Garrett Dutton since 1994. G.Love once worked with an unknown Jack Johnson, and although he's not quite followed him into the spotlight 'Hot Cookin'' is not unlike Johnson's own songs - strumming along in a gentle, poppy way. But although it's all fairly pleasant the passion and fire promised in the lyrics - "all I've gotta do is keep this fire burning bright" - don't ignite the song itself.
