American president George Bush found time to make a taped appearance on last night's episode of American Idol, and thanked viewers for their donations.
He and his wife Laura were acknowledging the $70million raised by viewers, who voted during last week's charity special which featured the likes of Bono from U2.
George Bush said the money raised for impoverished children in Africa and the United States showed "the good heart of America".
He then asked if he should sing, but Laura reminded him of his recent exploits with a West African dancing troupe (if you haven't seen the footage yet seek it out, it's hilarious)
The show itself had a Bon Jovi theme, with Jon Bon Jovi himself present to witness his finest creations (note: sarcasm) being mauled by the bunch of wannabe popstars.
