Flamboyant Outkast star Big Boi will apparently be strapping on a tutu and slipping into some pumps next year, in an onstage collaboration with the Atlanta Ballet Company.
The Savannah-born rapper will join members of the ballet troop onstage alongside members of hip-hop collective The Purple Ribbon All Stars in a special show designed by choreographer Lauri Stallings.
The as-yet unnamed show will open the ballet’s 2008 season between April 10-13 next year.
Boi is no stranger to experimental and innovative ideas. In 2003 the band released a double album’s worth of solo material ‘Speakerboxxx/The Love Below’, and the two singers wrote and starred in a 1920’s-set film, Idlewild in 2005.
