Sugababes Amelle Says She's Innocent

Sugababe Amelle Berrabah says she's "devastated" over the assault allegations levelled against her yesterday, but claims she's the innocent party.

The singer, 23, was arrested by police after allegedly attacking an 18-year-old at a bar in Guildford, Surrey on Sunday morning, but Berrabah has denied any wrongdoing.

Speaking from America after travelliing there yesterday to record new material with her group she said, "I am devastated this has happened when things were going so well with the band.

"We've just had a great tour and I was just having a drink with my sister Laila relaxing on a day off.

"What happened was unbelievable and my sister got hit by one of the boys in the group.

"I am the innocent party."

Police are said to be "continuing with their enquiries".
