Timbaland’s has ended The Proclaimers’ three week stint at the top of the singles chart.
‘Give It To Me’, featuring Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake, climbed ahead of ‘(I’m Gonna Be) 500 Miles’ after it was physically released last Monday.
Mark Ronson’s cover of The Smiths classic ‘Stop Me’ entered at number two, while Avril Lavigne climbed to three.
Hilariously, Gareth Gates failed to make the top ten with his comeback single ‘Changes’, despite a fierce PR campaign behind him.
The album chart saw Kings of Leon remain at number one for a second week with the brilliant ‘Because of the Times’, while Maximo Park slipped from two to nine with ‘Our Earthly Pleasures.’
