Many may know the name and volatile personality of Amy Winehouse but are maybe less familiar with the undeniable talent and creditability that makes her such an enigma. Often found stumberling around award ceremonies or half-cut on quiz or chat shows, Winehouse certainly doesn’t portray the class and grace which oozes out when you listen to ‘Back to Black’. It has a slow-burning ‘Goldfinger-esque’ verses that float effortlessly while the chorus is rather shy in approach it lets the song flow nicely. With ‘Back To Black’ being the third release from her album of the same name, it confirms the depths and quality which made it so critically acclaimed. Winehouse is somewhat of an interesting creature that has shaken up the jazz circuit and let the mainstream have a taste, Brit winner and a sell-out tour is certainly worth raising a glass too ……as if she needs an excuse.
