Hinder – ‘Get Stoned’ (Universal) Released 16/04/07

Hinder are currently gobbling up the new metal crowds like Pac-Man on dope. Their debut album ‘Extreme Behaviour’ has gone double platinum in the States and their last single has amassed ring tone (for gods sake) sales of over 1.5 million alone. Yes, Hinder are plotting world domination of Linkin Park proportions. Not bad for a band with a sound that resembles Nickelback, release a single about getting stoned and whose lead singer is called Austin Winkler.

“Go home, get stoned” is drooled out over the power, slow rock chorus. Being American it could be a reference to being drunk, but in the UK there is no mistaking its connotations. It’s not, by any stretch of the imagination anything out of the ordinary, but in a world where power-ballad rock bands are a dime a dozen, they do stand above the crowd.
