More Bright Eyes

Back to their disjointed country best, Mr Conor Oberst and his Bright Eyes roll back on the scene. More Wild West America than The Alamo, ‘Four Winds’ adds a dash upbeat folk charm, with the usual dash of wry wit. Although the style is recognisable and trademark Bright Eyes, some of the old passion is missing from what made songs like ‘First Day Of Your Life’ so charming. As Conor rails against the wrongs of society, it feels more like he is going through the motions than rallying for the revolution.
