Starting life as an indulgent, London bar-hopping club night, Adventures Close To Home has grown up, started wearing a tie and is trying to run a record label. This slice of electro-indie is ACTH’s first offering and Holy Hail don’t do a bad job of breaking them in. With lashings of pulsating scuzz, their sound could be likened to New Young Pony Club but more playful and teasing. Retro bleepery teamed with vocalist Cat’s suggestive tone, produce a hypnotic release that will ensure both fledgling band and label get noticed. A couple of mucky re-mixes from the decks of Shir Khan and DJ Gorky can’t do any harm either. Gloriously sleazy.
