Pete Doherty is ditching the guitar in favour of the decks at a dance festival this summer.
The Babyshambles singer will be manning the decks at Gatecrasher’s Summer Soundsystem at Lotherton Hall in Leeds on May 27.
Also playing DJ sets are Preston from The Ordinary Boys, Paul Thomson from Franz Ferdinand, Ross and Jaff from The Futureheads, Belle and Sebastian and Shit Disco.
For those looking for more dance-based acts, the likes of Timo Maas, Mr Scruff, Mauro Picotto and the musical abomination that is Dave Pearce will also be playing.
Simon Raine, Managing Director of Gatecrasher, said: “There has always been a unique crossover between the world’s of dance and indie music and we want to celebrate this at Summer Sound System in a way that is unique and fits with the whole dance festival culture.
“There is some quite anarchic about members of coolest UK bands becoming DJs, you never know what musical style or sound may come up with.”
Tickets for the event are on sale now and cost £37.50 plus the usual booking fee. Gates are open from 5pm until 6am at the festival.
