Happy Mondays have been speaking about their first new material in 15 years.
The drugs-frazzled Mancunians recently signed to Sanctuary Records and have been working on the new tracks with producers Sammy Levine and Howie B.
Frontman Shaun Ryder said: “I’m not the world’s best salesman, me… I’m not a great salesman at all. I think it’s a brilliant record.”
In the interview with the NME, the singer also added that he believes that the record is “fresher” than their seminal 1990 album ‘Pills ‘n’ Thrills and Bellyaches.”
A new single is expected in June, with the full-length following shortly after.
Meanwhile, the band tour the UK this spring, taking in the following dates:
Inverness Ironworks - May 22
Aberdeen Music Hall - 23
Sheffield Leadmill - 25
Middlesbrough Town Hall - 26
Hull University - 27
Cambridge Junction - 28
Northampton Roadmender - 30
Preston 53 Degrees - 31
Dudley JB's - June 1
Manchester Ritz - July 8
