Bespectacled Scottish duo have claimed the number one slot with the ‘(I’m Gonna Be) 500 Miles.’
The track was re-released to raise money for comic relief and features comics Peter Kay and Matt Lucas as their wheelchair bound characters Brian Potter and Andy Pipkin.
The original version of the track was released back in 1988 and entered the chart at a modest 26. It has since become a staple of student nights across the land.
Elsewhere, Maximo Park debuted at nine with ‘Our Velocity’ and The Twang charted at 15 with ‘Wide Awake.’
Take That reclaimed the number one position in the album chart with ‘Beautiful World’, while Enter Shikari notched up the impressive position of four with ‘Take to the Skies.’
Further down the chart, Good Charlotte’s ‘Good Morning Revival’ came in at 13 while The Rakes entered at the disappointing slot of 38.
