Bay City Rollers Sue Arista Records

    For millions in unpaid royalties...

March 21, 2007 by Daniel Melia

The Bay City Rollers are to sue Arista Records claiming they are owed millions of dollars in unpaid royalties.

The band say the label withheld money from sales of albums, merchandise, film rights, ringtones and commercials over the last 25 years.

Legal papers were filed at the US District Court in New York but dso not specify how much the band are claiming that they are owed.

However, lawyer for the band Joshua Krumholz says it is definitely “millions” judging by the amount of albums the band have sold around the world.

The members of the Bay City Rollers claim they have only received one royalty cheque for $254,000.

Arista Records is yet to comment on the action.

    • It’s about time! I’m sick of record companies ripping off artists. This is a hideous example of the problem.
