Outkast Head Nominees at MTV Europe Awards

Outkast are heading the MTV Europe Music Awards with five nominations including best group.

Other acts high up in the running include Franz Ferdinand, Maroon 5, Britney Spears, Black Eyed Peas, and Jay-Z who all have three nominations across the board.

Franz, whose awards performance this year has already seen them scoop the Mercury Music Prize, and even make it into the US equivalent the Shortlist prize ten finalists, are up for Best New Act, Best Alternative Act and Best Act UK & Ireland nominees.

Held in Rome on November 18 in Tor Di Valle, The Hives will perform a world exclusive of new single ‘Just Lose It’. The band are up for best alternative act.

The Beastie Boys will also perform at the prestigious event. The ‘To The 5 Boroughs’ stars are up for best group and best hip-hop.
