Speaking to Gigwise, Bright Eyes front-man Conor Oberst has spoken of his wish to get Ahmir '?uestlove' Thompson from hip-hop band The Roots to drum on his next album.
Oberst said "I'd love to get ?uestlove to play drums with us. That's kinda on my wish-list for the next record. That'd be cool."
The chances of this tantalising collaboration are realistic, as ?uestlove is a fan, nominating Bright Eyes 'Lifted...' album for the Shortlist music awards in 2003.
Another of his nominations was The Mars Volta, who Oberst described as "The best band in the world" at a Manchester University show in 2005. Picture the amount of hair, if all three of these acts got together.
Bright Eyes successfully deviated from their country/ folk template on the 2005 album 'Digital Ash In A Digital Urn', which had an electro sound.
Their 'Cassadaga' album is set for realise on April 9th. Keep your eyes on Gigwise for the full interview with Conor Oberst, coming soon.
