Sugababes and Girls Aloud have knocked Take That from the number one spot with their Comic Relief single ‘Walk This Way.’
Their cover of the Aerosmith and Run DMC classic ascended the charts thanks to Comic Relief on Friday night.
The Proclaimers entered at the chart with their Comic Relief collaboration with Peter Kay’s character Brian Potter and Matt Lucas’ Andy Pipkin on their tune ‘(I’m Gonna Be) 500 Miles.’
The only other notable entry into the top ten was Calvin Harris with his electro anthem ‘Born in the 80’s.’
The album chart saw X Factor runner-up Ray Quinn enter at one with ‘Doing It My Way’ and Ben Mills’ Picture of You’ enter at three – both enjoying success thanks to a Mother’s Day marketing push.
Much further down the chart LCD Soundsystem came in at the relatively disappointing position of 28 with ‘Sound of Silver.’
