U2, Razorlight And Muse Honoured At Q Awards

U2, Muse, Razorlight and Franz Ferdinand were amongst the artists honoured at this years Q awards yesterday (October 4).

The ceremony, which took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Park Lane, was hosted by Jonathan Ross. Guests included Elton John, Brain Ferry and Shane McGowan.

U2 won the Q Icon award, Keane won ‘Best Album’ for their debut ‘Hopes And Fears’, while Elton John accepted his award for classic song writing.

Elton’s acceptance wasn’t without controversy. He condemned Madonna for lip-synching at her live show, commenting after the slur that he wouldn’t be on her Christmas card list this year.

The Pogues won the Merit Award, Muse won best live act, while Razorlight won best new act commenting "Well, we f**kind did it, didn't we?".

Brian Ferry picked up the Lifetime Achievement award for his band Roxy Music, but was booed during his acceptance after dedicating the award to his “brave son” who took part in the protest against the banning of hunting at parliament last week.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers ended Radiohead’s four year reign of winning ‘Best Act In The World Today’.
