Starbucks have seemingly taken over the world’s high streets with their coffee houses and now they want to take over your record collections too.
The company have announced plans to start its own independent record label with artists set to be announced in the coming weeks.
Starbucks has previously released albums under the Hear Music brand but had always licensed songs from other companies.
Now it says Hear Music will become a label in its own right in partnership with Concord Music Group.
Both companies are hoping to take advantage of the coffee houses built-in audience and hope that will help attract acts to the label.
Starbucks have previously released albums by Ray Charles, The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan.
