Rap mogul P Diddy is being sued by a man who alleges that he assaulted him outside a Hollywood nightclub.
Gerard Rechnitzer says that Diddy, real name Sean Combs, “attacked, assaulted and battered” him in papers filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court.
Combs’ lawyer Benjamin Brafman hit back at the claims in a statement saying they were "just another example of an opportunist seeking to fabricate a lawsuit based on a flat-out lie".
"Mr Combs did not hit anyone, and Mr Rechnitzer suffered no injuries or damages whatsoever. There is no case. It is that simple."
The allegations say that Rechnitzer was attacked after approaching Combs outside of Teddy’s at the Roosevelt Hotel.
The rapper was apparently talking to Rechnitzer’s girlfriend at the time and is alleged to have swore at him before hitting him causing him to “fly backwards several feet” into a car.
The police have confirmed they are investigating a complaint from Rechnitzer but refused to confirm who else was involved.
