The first single from Air’s fourth record sees them shaking off the ‘Pink Floyd of electronica’ tag only to embrace the mantle of the modern day Steely Dan. Much like the latter day chin-strokers, Air display on this track a propensity to toy with the exotic (they’ve learnt to play the Japanese classical instrument, the Shamisen) and the surprising (try and second guess those chord changes). Sleek, sexy and graceful, 'Once Upon a Time' marks a fairytale return.
