The remaining members of The Darkness have regrouped and begun work on their new album – minus Justin Hawkins.
As previously reported, bassist Richie Edwards will take over on vocal duties in replacement for Hawkins, who quit the band after checking into rehab for his cocaine addiction.
Edwards made the announcement on the band’s official Myspace page, writing: "It's finally happened, the big red record button has been pressed and we've officially started our album."
However, the band are going to ditch The Darkness moniker and dub themselves under a new name. It’s unclear whether they are going to ditch the terrible all-in-one spandex suits.
