- The greatest contemporary band? What kind of nonsense is that??! They’re not even Modest Mouse. Not to mention actual great contemporary bands like Radiohead. What are you all smoking?

- Close, but I still think that title goes to Radiohead. So... close, but not quite... second greatest contemporary band after Radiohead? That sounds about right! Sorry Ryan, but Modest Mouse are not even close to Arcade Fire or Radiohead. They have brought absolutely nothing new to music.

- The Sasquatch Festival at the Gorge in Washington fits in right there after Chicago and before Portland. They’ll be in the NW anyhow. I think that show is pretty much a given.

- This will only be their second album, and it has not even been released, yet. They’ll need a couple more great albums to earn that. I would go with My Morning Jacket right now.

- It’s not possible to be the greatest contemporary band when you have 1 full length album out. Because of their prolific touring, legendary live show, and stage presence they might ARGUABLY be one of the best contemporary live bands. I’ve seen them live a number of times and must say I think they can hold up against any live show, including Radiohead.
