Kaiser Chiefs have slammed many current guitar bands, saying there is so much shit in the scene at the moment.
The band say that there was much more decent music in the Seventies, which puts contemporary bands to shame.
Sticks man Nick Hodgson believes that much of the dross is tied in with bands trying to replicate the Arctic Monkeys.
He told the NME: “There’s so much shit in guitar music at the moment. You imagine an A&R man seeing this bandwagon, jumping on it and signing any old shit with a guitar around its neck.
“I was watching this film about The Ramones. It got me thinking how everything is so average these days.”
Somewhat controversially, Hodgson believes that The Twang could be beacons for future music, adding: “Arctic Monkeys were the last of the best and we need something else now to get us out of it. Maybe it’s The Twang.”
Aren’t they just a Stone Roses pastiche Nick?
