Southern Californian radio station KCRW has announced plans to release a covers compilation album, in association with coffee giant Starbucks.
The album, entitled, ‘Sounds Eclectic: The Covers Project,’ will be available at various Starbucks outlets throughout America, as well as being released online, on March 13.
Various mega stars have included famous songs for the album that they recorded exclusively live for KCRW. Notable covers come courtesy of, Paul Weller (Rose Royce's - ‘Wishing on a Star’), The Flaming Lips, (Radioheads – ‘Knives Out’) and R.E.M. (John Hartford's – ‘Gentle on My Mind’)
The album's proceeds will help the radio station digitise its music library.
