    It’s a sad day for pop music as The Beautiful South have announced that they’ve split, after nineteen years together.

    The band have blamed “musical similarities” as the reason why they’ve decided to call it a day.

    The pop contingent were formed in 1988 by ex-Housemartins members, Paul Heaton and Dave Hemmingway.

    The outfit’s most successful release was their number one single, ‘A Little Time.’ Although who can forget the mighty, ‘Rotterdam’ and ‘Perfect 10’?
