The Glastonbury Festival ticket registration system has opened today.
Those hoping to go to this year’s festival will now be able to apply for a unique registration number by submitting their personal details - along with a passport photo - either online or by post. The registration period lasts until February 28.
As previously reported, only successful applicants will then be able to purchase tickets for the June festival, when they go on sale on April 1, priced at £150. The tickets will feature the applicant’s photo.
The festivals organisers believe this is the only way to stamp out ticket-touting at this years festival. The events founder, Michael Eavis said, “It's a much fairer system. It means unscrupulous people won't be able to sell their tickets on for a profit.”
Although the complete line-up will not be announced until after the tickets have gone on sale, acts that are confirmed so far include, Arctic Monkeys and The Who.
