Plan B Hits Back At Tim Westwood Criticism

Acoustic guitar-wielding rapper Plan B has hit back at hip-hop DJ Tim Westwood for criticising his ‘Fuck the police’ lyric.

Westwood criticised Plan B – real name Ben Drew – for recently performing a track on his show containing the lyric, ”Fuck the police is a ghetto state of mind,” – but Drew has responded by pouring scorn on the DJ for misinterpreting the line.

He tells the Scotsman, “Tim Westwood completely misunderstood that and had a go at me. This is the guy who is meant to be the godfather of hip hop on Radio One. He's been supporting hip hop all this time and he can't distinguish whether or not I'm going on his show and saying it in the way NWA meant it or saying it in a conscious way.

“In the context of that song, it doesn't mean 'Fuck the police', that's cool. We need the police. A lot of them abuse their power but we still need them. We need people putting the criminals away.”
