The Beastie Boys have joked that fans can expect to be disappointed with their new material.
The rappers have been holed up in the studio recently, laying down new tracks for the long-player which they will be road testing over a string of tour dates.
Speaking ahead of their appearance at the Good Vibrations festival in Australia next month, Mike Diamond was in typically boisterous mood.
The 41-year-old joked to theage.com: "It is actually really different ... fans can expect to be disappointed, they can expect to be angry at us.
"It's always hard to know (how the album will turn out). We still have a little of a way to go. I don't want to describe it too much because whatever I say might change.
"We are in the middle of recording it ... we are pretty excited about coming to Australia."
